About 412 Clean Teams
Deep in the heart of 2020, when a global pandemic threatened to disrupt the very fabric of society, 412 Clean Teams’ Founder, Rachel Nawrocki, decided to leave a 20-year career in nonprofit management and start a cleaning company in Pittsburgh, PA. The road to that decision began in 1992, when Rachel graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Biology. A lifelong advocate of clean spaces, inside and out, Rachel then moved to Washington D.C. where she entered the workforce to support environmental conservation. She later moved to New Mexico where she tirelessly helped nonprofits and tribal communities find grant funding and develop strategies to increase impact.
For years, Rachel led a team of 50 employees serving at-risk communities on the Navajo Nation while running a nonprofit organization with an annual budget of four million dollars. In 2018, Rachel relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania because she wanted to get back to city living and all it has to offer. She and her family chose Pittsburgh because after researching cities across the country, none seemed able to even begin to compare. Pittsburgh, its storied sports teams, gorgeous architecture, food, cultural offerings, environment, and economy all seemed to be the very best of the best America had to offer.
To help where she could, Rachel began by committing her personal time to mitigating litter and illegal dumping in Allegheny County. She now serves as Board Chair for Allegheny CleanWays, and as an at-large member of the Clean Pittsburgh Commission. Rachel leads several volunteer trash pick-up events each year, engaging her many of her new, dear friends in the region to get out there and get a little dirty to make things cleaner for everyone.
In October of 2020, Rachel started 412 Clean Teams LLC with the simple mission of helping good people make their lives a little easier. Rachel was responding to a major shift in how families spend their time together, answering the question, “With everyone spending so much more time at home, who wants to clean house?” Rachel and her team members do – that’s who!
In the Fall of 2023, Rachel’s husband, John, joined 412 Clean Teams, and they are now poised to help more households in Allegheny County than ever before. John and Rachel Nawrocki, plus 7 fully-trained and insured Clean Team house cleaners are ready to serve!
